“ At long last, I’ve found a place that genuinely makes me feel like I’ve stepped right back into Japan — not just in Bristol, but anywhere in the UK. Most so-called Japanese restaurants here tend to miss the mark, but this one is in a league of its own. The Signature Chicken Ramen and Seafood Shoyu Chicken Ramen were outstanding. The chicken was cooked to perfection — tender and juicy — and the broth was rich and full of depth without being overly salty. Proper quality ingredients, and you can taste the difference. The small plates were just as impressive. The tonkatsu was beautifully crisp on the outside and still succulent inside — not the dry, over-fried stuff you get elsewhere. Even the takoyaki was done to a high standard. The setting has a distinctly Japanese feel, but with a bit more space than what you’d find in a typical Tokyo spot. The service was also excellent — genuinely warm and attentive. I watched one of the staff dash out after a customer who’d forgotten something at the table — really going the extra mile. I don’t live in Bristol, but I’d happily make the trip from anywhere in the country for food like this. If you’re after proper Japanese cuisine in the UK, this place is absolutely worth going out of your way for. ”
“ Bring me back to Japan. This is an authentic Japanese ramen. The broth is rich but perfectly balanced, not overly salty. The chicken-based soup is made with a seafood stock foundation. The portions of meat are very generous, and the price is extremely reasonable. Gyoza are full of meat soup in it, highly recommend! They also serve sake, which is incredibly nostalgic. I ordered a warm sake, Dassai, and it was absolutely satisfying. It’s the kind of place you’d make a special trip to Bristol just to enjoy again. ”
